French-Door Ice System Overhaul

The Challenge

Ice Maker Dead, Dispenser Dripping

The customer's four-year-old French-door fridge had stopped making ice and the dispenser dripped constantly. Two frozen food losses in a month made it urgent — but the sealed cooling system was working perfectly, so replacement would have been wasteful.

  • Faulty inlet valve starving the ice maker of water.
  • Scaled dispenser paddle causing the constant drip.

The Fix

What We Did

  1. Isolated the water fault

Pressure-tested the supply line and valve — valve coil reading open circuit.

  2. Replaced valve and filter

Genuine inlet valve plus a fresh water filter, fitted and flushed.

  3. Serviced the dispenser

Descaled the paddle assembly and recalibrated the fill level.

Result

First ice within 90 minutes, dispenser drip eliminated, and a 90-day warranty on parts and labour — at roughly one-tenth the cost of a replacement fridge.
